MetroStyle Studios - A Boutique service for contemporary clients
George Day’s Metrostyle Studio is a commercial photography studio, but one with a long (20-year) earlier history of shooting over 500 weddings between 1999 and 2019. At this stage in my career, when it comes to wedding work, I only work with budget couples (many of whom are saddled with student loan debt). I offer a simple, inexpensive $899 five-hour package with two-week turnaround of your fully-photofinished digital files, which are yours to do with as you like. You can order your own prints, wall hangings, canvas gallery wraps, albums, etc., through the online vendor of your choice (Shutterfly, etc.) without any pressure sales from me - I ONLY offer 5 hours of shooting time on the wedding day and two-week delivery of the photofinished images.
Here is how a typical 5-hour shoot might play out for a small modern wedding with 3 or 4 bridesmaids, 3 or 4 groomsmen, and 100 or so guests, but with a limited number of extended family shooting.
2:00 PM: First Look ("The Reveal")
2:15 PM: Primary photography of the bride, groom, and wedding party
3:30 PM: Photos of parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles/cousins, etc.
4:00 PM: BREAK (Hide the bride!)
4:30 PM: 20 minute wedding ceremony
4:50 PM: Receiving Line and start of social/cocktail hour followed by bustling gown
6:00 PM: Wedding Party's Grand Entrance into reception
6:10 PM: Formal cake cutting
6:15 PM: Dinner begins
6:45 PM: Toasts during early phase of dinner
7:00 PM: Photographer's Ending Time
Again, this is just to give an idea of how things MIGHT play out. I've done plenty of five-hour days that were quite different timelines, some even managing to include the first dance.
